Souls of Our Feet features excerpts of film classics that pay homage to some of Tap’s Legends, such as Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, Charles "Honi" Coles, The Nicholas Brothers, The Copasetics, Leon Collins, Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Added to this mix are re-creations of classic rhythm-tap routines from the vaudeville stage and silver screen performed “live” by master tap dancers of today.

This event returns to the Columbia stage for its fourth year. The competition is not only a laugh-a-minute, it’s a white-knuckle challenge for every comic who’s ever dreamed of making it. The Finals take place at the Comedy Underground Club in Seattle.

The Monticello Camera Club meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month in the Dining room of the Somerset retirement apartments.
During this meeting we will be judging prints and electronic images from our club members.
Digital and film photographers of all ages and skill levels are invited to join, dues are $10 annually. Feel free to come and just sit in on a meeting for free. As a club we hold regular photo competitions in all formats, Print, digital, and slides. We are currently planning some photography outings and some workshops so beginning and intermediate photographers can learn from the "more experienced."

This non competitive fun run is for all ages and consists of one lap around Lake Sacajawea Park . Prizes are awarded for fi rst place overall male and female, youth and adult. Free raffl e drawings and refreshments for everyone. Proceeds benefit teen and therapeutic recreation programs. Deadline for shirt order is November 17. The Cowlitz Americorps Network team invites families to join them and volunteer together on National Family Volunter Day. This year the team has partnered with the North Lake Elementary PTO's Backpack Buddies program. This is a food assistance program for children who would not otherwise have a sufficient source of food over the weekend. Members and volunteers will be collecting and sorting donations of ready-to-eat foods (requires no preparation since it is for young children). The drive is also accepting donations of backpacks to prepare for expansion of the program. Backpack buddies is currently funded solely by PTO members and serves 50 children on a regular basis.

This year's dual theme will take us around the world with Sesame Street Workshop and then bring us back to Cowlitz County for Christmas in 1968. Activities include crafts, storytelling and woodcarving demonstrations.

Julie Tennis, Interpretive Specialist with Washington State Parks, became interested in marine debris when she was a park ranger
patrolling the beaches. She saw massive amounts of garbage washed ashore each day. Julie talks, and shows slides, about the impacts of this problem, and tells how individuals can make a difference. The program is free and open to the public. It will be held at the Cowlitz PUD Auditorium, 961 12th Ave., Longview
